Walk yourself to happiness and health

August 15,2016

Feeling down in the dumps? Unfit? Unhealthy? Pressed for time to exercise?
The answer is simple… WALK! 30 minutes a day can do wonders for you. Anytime, anywhere, just go!

When you go for a walk it’s not just your body that benefits, the way you think and feel changes, too.
The world looks better and brighter. It’s partly because healthy, active people tend to be happier, but it’s also because taking a brisk walk gives you a chance to take time out, think and reflect.

Walking sets off a number of other processes; it promotes the release of endorphins or “happy” hormones, it releases adrenaline which is the body’s “mood-lifting” chemical, it produces hormones to improve sleep and also releases muscle tension.

There you go, 1 solution to so many problems!

While you’re walking yourself happy, you’re also walking yourself healthy.

Walking regularly
Reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke

Reduces your risk of developing some cancers

 Makes you feel more energetic

 Increases muscle strength and endurance

Helps you lose weight, reduce body fat and increase muscle tone

 Lowers blood pressure

 Prevents or helps control diabetes

Reduces joint and muscular stiffness and pain

Strengthens your bones and reduces the risk of osteoporosis

 Improves balance

 Improves sleep.

So take every opportunity to walk because each step you take is making you healthier and happier.
